Healthcare integrations · Process optimisation · Delivery leadership

Connected systems. Better processes. Clear ownership.

I help healthcare and business teams connect systems, remove process bottlenecks, and turn operational needs into clear technical requirements.

My strength is seeing the whole picture: how people, workflows, and technology affect one another — and where a change will make the greatest practical difference.

Three connected ways to work together

These are not independent offerings — most engagements touch more than one. Healthcare is my main industry focus; integrations, automation and delivery leadership are the ways I solve problems there.

Healthcare & system integrations

Connect clinical and business systems through HL7, FHIR APIs and file-based workflows. I work with data mapping, field-level logic and vendor constraints so information reaches the right place in the right format.

IT Project Management & Business and Workflow Optimization

I identify bottlenecks, map dependencies across systems and translate operational needs into clear technical requirements. I lead IT workstreams, coordinate users, developers and vendors, and guide implementation through testing and handover—with a clear view of how each change affects the wider workflow.

AI & workflow automation

Reduce repetitive work with automation and practical AI agents, designed around how your team actually operates. Start with the process, identify where automation helps, and define where human review is needed.

ERP & CRM process optimisation

Translate everyday operational needs into clear workflows and system requirements. From reviewing existing processes to coordinating configuration, I connect the people doing the work with the technical specialists building the solution.

When to bring me in

Recognise your situation

Common situations where my approach tends to make a practical difference.

You need patient, appointment, or operational information to move between systems, with clear rules for mapping, validation, and updates.

Missing fields, inconsistent records, and recurring exceptions create extra work for your team. Tracing the problem and coordinating a practical solution is what is needed.

Your team knows what is difficult, but development needs precise rules and expected behaviour. Translating operational needs into specifications that technical teams can implement.

Process stages, required information, approvals, or handoffs are unclear. The system should support how the work should happen across departments.

You need someone to organise priorities, coordinate business and technical teams, resolve open questions, and keep implementation moving.

You want to identify where integrations, workflow automation, or AI could reduce repetitive tasks — and where human review should remain.

How I think

A whole-system view of the problem

A bottleneck rarely exists in isolation. The issue you notice in one workflow may begin in another system, an unclear responsibility, or information that arrives too late.

I look at the full path: who does the work, what information they need, how systems exchange it, and what happens next. This helps me identify the underlying constraints and shape improvements that work across the process.

Find what is slowing the work down

I look for repeated manual steps, unclear decisions, fragile dependencies, and gaps between teams or systems.

Improve the process around the change

If a requested update affects another workflow, I make those dependencies visible and explain what else may need to change.

Make the solution workable for people

I connect technical decisions with the needs of the people using the system, so the process is understandable and practical in day-to-day work.

Broader findings are discussed and prioritised with you before the project scope changes.

Project examples

Examples of projects I can support

Illustrative service scenarios — not completed client case studies. Scope is agreed around your systems, team, and priorities.

Connect patient and appointment workflows

A healthcare application needs patient demographics and appointment information from an EHR.

What the work can look like

Three small illustrations of the kind of clarity a project can produce. These are not real client documents — they illustrate the working method.

A. Illustrative field-mapping example

Illustrative example — not a client document

Source field Destination field Rule Missing-value handling
external_record_id source_reference Preserve the source identifier as text. Flag for review; do not silently create an unmatched record.
email_address contact_email Trim surrounding whitespace and validate the expected format. Leave empty if optional; do not overwrite an existing value unless the agreed update rules allow it.

Generic field names — not an HL7 or FHIR implementation specification.

B. Illustrative process improvement

Illustrative example — proposed workflow

Current process

Request received → manually forwarded → missing information discovered → clarification requested → work assigned.

Proposed process

Request received → required information checked → incomplete requests returned for clarification → complete requests assigned to a clear owner.

The aim is to make missing information and ownership visible earlier in the process.

C. Illustrative requirements example

Illustrative example — acceptance criteria

Business need: Requests should reach the correct team with the information needed to begin work.

Example acceptance criteria

  • A request cannot be submitted without the agreed required fields.
  • Routing uses the selected request category.
  • A request with no matching routing rule is sent to a review queue.
  • The assigned owner can see the request status and relevant details.
Engagement

From an unclear problem to a practical next step

Every engagement starts differently. We agree scope and approach together.

1

Understand

We discuss what is happening today, what should happen instead, and which people and systems are involved.

2

Map and prioritise

I identify bottlenecks, dependencies, and open questions, then help define a realistic scope.

3

Define and implement

I turn the agreed approach into requirements and support implementation through hands-on work or coordination with the relevant specialists.

4

Validate and hand over

We check the agreed scenarios, document the workflow, and clarify ongoing ownership.

Support can focus on a specific stage or continue through implementation, depending on the agreed scope.

Engagement formats

How we can work together

Scopes, deliverables and timelines are agreed together — no fixed packages.

Assessment & roadmap

Look at a specific process or integration together and agree a path forward.

Project delivery

Carry out a defined change with agreed deliverables and clear acceptance criteria.

Ongoing leadership

Lead an agreed function, team or workstream on a continuing basis by arrangement.
